Here’s a list of musicians performing at Donald Trump’s inauguration, or at last night’s hideous MAGA celebration event or other inaugural events:
Carrie Underwood, country singer
Christopher Macchio, opera singer
Lee Greenwood, saxophonist and country singer
Kid Rock, country rock singer
Village People, disco singers
Billy Ray Cyrus, country singer
Jason Aldean, country singer
Rascal Flatts, country music band
Parker McCollum, country singer
Gavin DeGraw, country/pop/rock singer
Snoop Dogg, rapper
Liberty University’s Praise Choir
University of Nebraska-Lincoln Combined Chorus
I didn’t list the military ensembles because I believe their performances are a condition of their employment. The rest of these artists I believe had the option to say no to celebrating the inauguration of a convicted felon and sexual abuser.
But they didn’t. They chose fame and exposure instead.
I also wonder about the religious officials embracing Mr. Trump as he first-pumped his way into St. John’s Episcopal Church this morning. Do they have any integrity either?
It’s too bad Mr. Trump didn’t ask for an oboe solo from a feminist oboist. I would’ve either said no or delivered something very special for the occasion.
It’s a fucking dark day. The arts and artists are going to be more important than ever in the next four years.
A wealthy shirttail cousin, who owns an award-winning winery, and whom I "divorced" for his racist support of dt, just sent me an email with a Youtube video of a song, "Bye, Bye Biden," sung to the tune of "Bye, Bye Blackbird." It's the most immature piece of gloating I've ever seen, with lyrics such as "Go back home to Delaware, have someone change your underwear..." and that's as far as I got. It's really sad to see this baby-man stoop so low, joining the tRump camp that relishes in shunning over half of the country.
Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day!
